Goodell, You've Done it Again!
It's almost certain that the commissioner has no clue how to run the league. Roger Goodell has yet again taken pity on a punk who's only intention is to hurt people. We get it, football is becoming soft, but the shoulder to the head from Bengals linebacker, Vontaze Burfict, that gave Antonio Brown a concussion shouldn't be looked at as just a player committing to the tackle.
This hit gave Antonio Brown a concussion, and the Broncos almost a guaranteed spot in the AFC Championship game.
Burfict's punishment, a 3-game suspension.
It isn't like this is the first time we've seen Burfict do something questionable on the field. Just weeks ago, we saw him fire a cameraman's camera to the ground.
I'm not on the list of people that want Burfict banned from the league because he is a hell of an athlete, and this incident isn't severe enough to lead to a ban.
However, Burfict's punishment is a total joke and needs to be longer to ensure that he thinks twice before targeting another player. Also, for a guy who really should be cracking down on plays resulting in head injuries, Goodell should take plays like this more seriously.
This has me believing that Goodell really wants to lose the case against Brady for "allegedly having knowledge in the possible deflation of a few footballs." Because if you're going to give a guy 3 games for targeting the head of another player and knocking him out, but you're going to give Tom Brady 4 games for what he might've known about is just pathetic.
Roger Goodell started to look bad after the Ray Rice ordeal by concealing information when he suspended him for the original 2 games, but then how he handled DeflateGate, Odell Beckham Jr.'s targeting of Josh Norman, and now Burfict's shot to the head is making even more people want him fired. The guy is making the game a total joke and doesn't deserve to remain at his position.
