Week one is in the books. Is your Fantasy team struggling or plagued by injuries? Here are the players to pick up before week two.
Quarterback: Carson Palmer
What? He still plays? That’s right, Carson Palmer looked unreal last Sunday against the Saints. Showing flashes of the Cincinnati version of Carson Palmer, he lit up the stage throwing for three touchdowns, 307 yards, and more importantly no interceptions. Palmer’s next opponent is the Bears defense who is still recovering from an airshow displayed by Aaron Rodgers. If you manage to pick him up, highly consider starting him for week two.
Running Back: Chris Johnson
CJ2K is still relevant. One week into the NFL season and Arizona workhorse Andre Ellington sprained his PCL making him unavailable for the next 2-3 weeks. Head coach Bruce Arians has already announced that CJ will be his go to guy this Sunday. You have to remember that CJ isn’t the same speedy freak he once was. But if you’re looking for a 2-week filler, or a flex option, then Johnson is your guy.
Wide Receiver: James Jones
Aaron Rodgers’ boy is back. Jones is a simple replacement to the hurting Packers wide receiving core. With Jones being a former favorite target of Aaron Rodgers, the trust relationship between WR and QB already exists. His two receiving touchdowns last weekend could be a theme for the year. Pick up Jones and bench him this week if you have a better option, if he has great week 2 then I would start him week 3.
Tight End: Tyler Eifert
Prior to this Sunday Eifert was owned in only 40 percent of leagues. Hurry up and pick this guy up because he’s already 70 percent owned three days after his monster performance. He looked like Gronk in week one and he could be your ticket to the playoffs. Pick him up and start him immediately, another 2-touchdown game is inevitable.
