With the new playoff rankings freshly released, there is a lot to talk about.
Washington moved up to #5 with their win over Arizona St. 44-18. They still can very well make the playoffs if they were to win out and win the PAC-12. Also, they are in very good position because of Ohio State and Michigan playing this week, with them both being in the current playoff picture.
Louisville dropped all the way to #11 with their blowout loss to Houston. The Cardinals O-line was exposed by the dominant Houston pass rush with Heisman-favorite Lamar Jackson not having any time to throw. Louisville isn't going to be able to playing in the ACC Championship Game with Clemson clinching their division but winning out they could potentially play in a New Year's six bowl.
One surprise team this year who has quietly had an outstanding season is Colorado. The Buffalos have slowly climbed up the ranks and have done it in a rather tough conference. They square off with Utah this weekend and if they win they will clinch the south division and play in the PAC-12 championship.
