Weather permitting, the Boston Red Sox are looking for a clean sweep of the New York Yankees in the first 2016 season series.
New York will send Nathan Eovaldi to the mound, who is currently 1-2 with a 4.38 ERA on the season to face a loaded Red Sox lineup that is clicking at the right time. Eovaldi no-hit the Texas Rangers for six innings in his last start, earning his first win on the season. Eovaldi is known for throwing a heavy fastball that can mow down a lineup in a hurry, averaging over 96 MPH. The Yankees need to get something going, as they have had a disappointing start to the regular season. The Yankees, who are currently 8-14, sit in the basement of the AL East and are losers of four straight games, and seven out of their last ten.
For the Red Sox, they send their newly acquired ace, David Price, to the mound against a struggling Bronx Bombers club. Price is coming off a 14-strikeout game against the Atlanta Braves and will face the Yankees for the first time as a member of the Boston Red Sox. Unlike the Yankees, the Red Sox have caught fire, but have yet to get it going at Fenway Park (7-7, opposed to 7-2 on the road).
First pitch is scheduled for an 8:05 pm start on ESPN and on WEEI on the radio at Fenway Park.
