Rumors have been swirling around that Ronda Rousey was going to wear body paint in the latest Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition after SI's Swimsuit Editor, MJ Day, posted this picture on her Instagram Tuesday:
Thursday, SI confirmed that the rumors were true, and that the former UFC Champion would be wearing a bathing suit made entirely of body paint in her second appearance in the Swimsuit Edition.
To be honest, I've never really been a fan of Rousey. I'm not usually into girls that can legitimately kill me with their bare hands and, after she lost to the current UFC Champion, Holly Holm, I thought she was pretty overrated.
However, Rousey is still a hell of a fighter. Her grappling techniques are still second to none, and her ability to intimidate her opponent before they even step into the ring is something that all fighters should attempt to mimic.
To her credit, the Riverside, California native has milked her newfound fame for everything that it is worth. She starred in The Expendables 3 (very underrated movie), Furious 7, and Entourage, while being in so many commercials that it seems like a joke. If I was suddenly the most famous fighter in the world, you wouldn't be able to get my face off the screen.
But like I said, as for the pictures, I'm not impressed. I guess the body paint is cool, but if it looks just like a regular bathing suit then who cares. Sorry, I just don't think that Sloth from the Goonies deserves to be in the Swimsuit Edition...
