According to multiple reports, Johnny Manziel cleared waivers yesterday and is now officially a free agent. While his future in the NFL is very much in doubt, one thing is for certain: Manziel needs to get his life off the football field in order before teams will even think about signing the former Heisman Trophy winner.
Hell, even Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys won't bring in Manziel for a visit as of right now. The Cowboys have been linked to Manziel since draft night, but concerns about partying, addiction, and domestic issues have clouded the former Texas A&M Aggies' judgment.
Manziel voluntarily checked himself into rehab in January of 2015, where he spent two months of sober living. However, Manziel seems to be unable to shake his lifestyle, and his father is worried: "I truly believe if they can't get him help, he won't live to see his 24th birthday,'' Paul Manziel told The Dallas Morning News.
Hopefully, for Manziel's sake, he is able to get himself clean and get his life back in order. Manziel has already had multiple chances to do so, but some things are more important than football.
