After a tough loss last night, the Red Sox and Orioles will be back in action tonight at Fenway Park. The Red Sox will be sending Steven Wright to the mound, who is currently sporting the lowest ERA in the American League, at 2.09. Against one of the best lineups in the American League, Wright will have his hands full. Nonetheless, Wright has been arguably one of the best pitchers in baseball so far this season, having won four straight starts. In his last start against the Orioles on May 30, Wright threw a complete game, allowing two runs.
On the flip side, the Baltimore Orioles will be sending Kevin Gausman to combat against a sputtering, albeit dangerous, Red Sox lineup. On the season, Gausman is 0-3 with a 3.45 ERA, but has turned in six quality starts this season. In his last start against the Toronto Blue Jays, Gausman allowed two runs and eight hits over 6.1 innings, which would ultimately turn into an extra-inning loss for the O's
Expect both teams to come out swinging the bats early, as both teams could not put together any type of offensive rhythm last night against two of the AL East's best pitchers.
