As we approach the first pitch on Opening Day, the Red Sox try to narrow down their roster to what they believe to be the best options down the road.
The Sox latest moves include sending Roenis Elias down to AAA, while reliever, Noe Ramirez, and starter, Stephen Wright, make the club.
The race for the number five starter wasn't as heated as some might've expected, as Joe Kelly looked like a #2 and Henry Owens did not show up.
As for Elias, he looked like garbage most of the time, proving to be nothing more than extra payroll in the Wade Miley deal and, with Carson Smith starting the year on the DL, makes that trade look like trash.
Noe Ramirez will likely only be up until Smith comes back, unless he's dominant.
