With the nerves finally settling from an outstanding finish in The Horseshoe, its time to talk about the implications of yesterday's game.
Now with Penn State winning the Big Ten East division over Ohio State and Michigan, this causes an overall shit show within the playoff picture. If Penn State wins the Big Ten, you'd assume that they'd give them a spot in the playoff. But since Penn State beat Ohio state and lost to Michigan, all 3 of those teams have lost to one another.
Now one of the possibilities for the potential outcome of the final playoff would be to give the 2,3,4 spots to all 3 of those teams. Now while this would cause huge amounts of criticism, it seems to be one of the only logical outcomes considering the fact that Michigan can't truly leave the top 4 nor can Ohio State. With Penn State beating the #2 team and being Big 10 Champs, they too would deserve a spot.
Now something that will throw another layer of disruption into an already chaotic playoff selection would be if Clemson were to win out. All they have left is the ACC Championship, but if I'm being hones,t I think if Clemson and Michigan play in a neutral-field game, then Michigan wins.
Now a lot can change if Wisconsin wins the Big 10,with them being 6th in the country, and beating Penn State would probably sneak them into the playoff.
A lot is going to unfold within these next couple of Saturdays but whatever it is will surely be fun to watch.
