The Summer of Gronk continues to roll on. Moments after GQ released its latest magazine cover with Gronk holding model Hailey Clauson on his shoulders, EA Sports revealed that Rob Gronkowski will also be on the cover of Madden 17. Gronk will be the first tight end and first Patriot to grace the cover of the EA Sports football game. Gronk is featured on the cover doing his famous post-touchdown spike.
Last year, Gronk barely lost out to Odell Beckham Jr. for the cover in a fan vote. No fan vote was held this year.
For those worried about a “Madden Curse,” the last 4 players on the cover, Calvin Johnson, Adrian Peterson, Richard Sherman, and OBJ all had very strong seasons while on the cover of the video game. It is very safe to say that the curse is dead, which should be relieving to Patriots fans.
Madden 17 hits stores August 23.
P.S. Imagine if there was another fan vote this year for Madden 17 and Tom Brady was voted onto the cover… FREE BRADY
