When LeBron James published a Sports Illustrated article stating that he was returning to the homeland to try and bring a championship to the mistake on the lake, it seemed very unlikely that LBJ would leave Cleveland for a second time. Now, just 2 short seasons after leaving Miami, it seems like LeBron would actually consider joining a new team this off-season.
LBJ first made recent headlines for un-following the Cleveland Cavaliers official twitter account. He explained that it was a distraction to his playoff push. OK LeBron, whatever you say. Now LeBron has gone on the record saying he would be interested in taking a pay cut to team up with good friends Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, and Chris Paul. This is a very interesting scenario because LeBron has a player option that could make him a free agent at the end of this season and has shown that he is very frustrated with the direction the Cavs are taking.
Could this super team really happen?
LBJ has left Cleveland once and I would not be surprised if he did it again. I, however, do not think he would pull through with it because the King has vowed to bring a championship to Cleveland. Furthermore, D-Wade is unlikely to leave Miami thus spending his entire career with the Heat. Melo has also stayed very loyal to his hometown Knicks and is unlikely to abandon ship. Lastly, CP3 is not a free agent until 2017 and seems to be in a decent situation with the Clippers. So, could this super team really happen? I mean yeah it could but it seems very unlikely unless a few long shot dominos fall. This is definitely a story to keep an eye on. Stay tuned.
