This past episode picked up right where episode seven left off. It followed up immediately with the Hound, Riverrun and the Arya Stark plot lines. The Hound quickly got his revenge on the members of the Brotherhood Without Banners for slaughtering the religious group that he was staying with. The Hound tracked down the specific members of the Brotherhood who killed his friends and killed them with his axe. At the end of the episode, he ran into the leaders of the Brotherhood whom he had previously encountered in season three. When the Hound showed up, the leaders of the Brotherhood already were about to hang the members who killed the Hound's friends. It appears that the Hound is going to join the Brotherhood in some capacity.
In the Arya plot line, after almost dying from a stab wound, she goes back to the theater people and finds Lady Crane, whom she had become friendly with earlier in the season. Lady Crane takes Arya back to her apartment and helps her heal her stab wound. However, it is not long until the Waif is able to locate Arya's location and kills Lady Crane. She chases down Arya through a crowded area and chases her into an alley. By the end of the episode, the chase continues and Arya is able to find where she put her sword, "Needle" and then kills the Waif. She then goes back into the house of Black and White and tells Jaquen Hagar that she is quitting and going back to Westeros.
In the Riverrun plot line, The Blackfish refuses to give up the castle to Jaimie Lannister and the Lannister army. The Blackfish also refuses to go with Brienne of Tarth to help his niece, Sansa, take back Winterfell. Jaimie is able to convince his prisoner, Edmure Tully, who is Lord of Riverrun, to command the Tully rebels to disobey the Blackfish and give up the castle. This plan works out and no Tully men are killed. The Blackfish, however, chooses to go out fighting.
One of the most intense plot lines this season has been Kings Landing. Cersi commands the Mountain to kill one of the Sparrows that is trying to force her to leave the Red Keep. It was great to see the Mountain in action and I think this is just a preview of what we are going to see in the finale. King Tommen has outlawed trial by combats so it is likely that Cersi would be found guilty of incest with her cousin, Lancel, and brother Jaimie. I think in the season finale, two weeks from now, we are going to see a yuge brawl and it will certainly involve the Mountain protecting Cersi from the Sparrows. It would be my guess that in the finale we see some significant deaths that could be either Cersi or Tommen or even both. Tune in next week for the Battle of The Bastards.
