After the miraculous resurrection of Jon Snow in the previous episode, this episode picks up shortly afterwards, with Jon Snow breathing heavily and Davos trying to help him up and both of them are shocked at what has transpired. Jon says that he should not be alive and is clearly shaken that he was murdered for doing what he thought was right. Davos reassures him that he should go out and use this second chance at life to do as much as good as he can. Melisandre comes in the room and asks Jon if he saw the Lord of Light and Jon replies that there was nothing on the other side.
Jon then gets dressed and publicly appears to the Knights Watch and Wildlings, who believe that he is a god. Tormond makes a penis joke and points out that it is impossible for Jon to be a god in an effort to make Jon feel better, who is clearly shaken by what has happened.
We then cut to see Sam and Gilly who we have not seen since last season. They are both on a ship and Sam is puking his brains out. They are on their way to the Citadel for Sam to become a Maester and he tells Gilly that she won't be able to stay there. He then says he will be taking her to live with his familym who kicked him out years before and thats why he was in the Watch to begin with.
We then cut to a flashback scene with Bran. It is a young Ned Stark and a bunch of Northmen looking for Ned's sister, Lynna Stark who was kidnapped by Rhegar Tagaryen and guarded in a tower by two Kingsguard one of, which is the legendary swordsman, Ser Arthur Dayne. Dayne and the other Kingsguard are outnumbered two to five, but manage to kill all of the Northman except Ned Stark. Ned ends up in a one-on-one scenario against Dayne and is getting his ass kicked and then out of nowhere, another Northman who was wounded stabs Dayne in the back and Ned kills him. Ned can hear his sister screaming from the top of the tower and heads up to see what the hell is going on.
We then cut to Danyerous Targaryen who is forced to stay in a sweat lodge type thing with the widows of different Dorthraki's. She is pissed off and rightfully so because she is the queen of Mereen and the last thing she wants to be doing is living with a bunch of Dorthaki women. Back in Mereen, Varys, the spymaster has found out that a whore has been helping the Sons of The Harpy and killing the "Unsullied" and Second Sons. Varys, instead of torturing her, offers her an escape plan for her and her son if she gives up information about who is funding them. It turns out that it is the Slave Masters of Astapor and Yunkai as well as Volantis.
We then go across to the narrow sea to Kings Landing, where Qyburn has taken over Varys's old job and is recruiting young little kids to spy on different people. These kids are whom Varys called his "Little Birds". Then out of nowhere, The Mountain walks in with his blue face and Kingsguard Armor on and freaks out the little kids. Cersi Lannister and Jamie Lannister are also both there. Cersi says that there will likely be a trial by combat and the Mountain will be her champion. Then the four of them hijack the small council meeting, which is being led by her uncle, Kevan Lannister. Kevan says that it is none of their business and him along with, Pycelle, and Mace Tyrell get up and leave. Still in Kings Landing, Tommen has brought with him four Kingsguard and has demanded that the old guy lets his mother see her daughter Myrcella's body. He manages to use jedi mind tricks and convince Tommen to calm down.
Now we go to the Arya storyline. She is continuing to train and is getting a lot better. Even though she is blind, she is starting to beat that other chick in the stick fights. Due to her improved abilities she drinks a cup of water and gets her sight back.
We then make our way back up North to Winterfell, where Ramasy Bolton is visited by Lord Umber. He is sarcastic towards Ramsay and clearly is not intimidated by him. He says he wants to unite against the Wildlings and Jon Snow and as good faith turns over Osha and Rickon Stark, who we have not seen in literally three seasons. Finally, we make our all the way back up to the wall, where Jon Snow is reflecting in his private quarters. He then goes out to execute the traitors, who include Aliser Thorne and Olly. He cuts a rope with his sword and they all hang to death. Olly just stares at Jon when given the opportunity to say his last words. Jon then hands off his Lord Commander cloak to Ed and quits the Nights Watch. T
