The 2016-2017 season will be the 50th for the hockey fans in Philadelphia. To commemorate this landmark the Flyers organization has unveiled a special alternate jersey for the season.
I'm a big fan of orange, and black goes with everything, but gold never works. I get that its the 50th and gold usually represents glory and celebration, but it never works in uniforms. Congratulations to the Flyers on 50 years, but they could have done better than just making the numbers gold. Luckily, the Flyers will wear these only 12 times during the season, and none of those games are against the Bruins.
Over the years, Philadelphia should have learned to stay away from gold.
I understand these examples are a little drastic compared to the Flyers jerseys, but I've made my point. Here's a better, more familiar example:
