The midway point of the NFL season is near. This year has been filled with the biggest losers, and the sweetest winners. I’m feeling optimistic today, so here are this weeks winners.
Winner: Brian Hoyer Can’t believe I just labeled him a winner. Hoyer played a very impressive game, throwing for 293 yards, 3 touchdowns, and most importantly no interceptions. What makes Hoyer the biggest winner is finally winning the battle of Brady’s backups. Officially named the starting quarterback Hoyer looks to keep on a hot streak.
Winner: Keenan Allen What a studly performance by Keenan Allen. Allen was a PPR machine on Sunday scoring 14 points from receptions alone. Unfortunately, Allen was injured during the game and his production and possibility of a 20-reception game was halted. Keenan Allen might not have the consistency, but he’ll get you those killer games like we saw on Sunday.
Winner: Chris Ivory Mini-Marshawn was on the loose over the weekend. What a monster game by Ivory who’s picked up over 300 yards in his last two games. One of his biggest tests will be this weekend against the Patriots. Will he lower the boom, or sizzle out?
Winner: Alshon Jeffery Alshon came back from his injury without any problems. In his only two appearances this season, he has an incredible 22 targets. Its clear that Jay Cutler will look to Alshon the majority now that Brandon Marshall has departed.
