My “biggest thoughts” are for games that I am actually able to watch. For games that I do watch, I take notes on every individual period and record everything I happen to blurt out. For games I can’t watch, I’ll be recapping on what I see from replays and the box score.
I’ll also be referring to the Bruins as “we” in most cases.
Let’s get to it.

Columbus Blue Jackets, 02/22/2016, @Boston
Rematch after the win last week. This game is the start of Dad Week, which is when all of the Bruins have their dads come on the weeks trip. Hopefully there’s some luck to be brought.
During the pregame show Connolly said that playing with Marchand and Bergeron changed the way that he plays his game. He’s gotten better at attacking the puck on a dump in and making plays every time. He has six points in six games. Let’s see if that’s true.
Thoughts on first period:
“Scoring chances right off the bat”
“Bruins forcing turnovers”
“Krug is ITCHING for that goal”
“Quick re-entry. No wasted time”
“Have to work”
Overall thoughts: 6 – 4 L
Second and third belonged to the Blue Jackets. Bruins were blanked on the power play, gave up two on the penalty kill, and two of the Jackets’ goals were on 4 on 3s. We were out hit and out shot at the end of the game, and staying consistent on the offensive pressure continues to plague the Bruins.
"Yeah, it's always a big win coming in here," Columbus forward Matt Calvert said. "You know they are an established team at home and it's a big win, especially scoring six in their barn. I thought we came all night and I thought all four lines were going, and I think that's the most important part for us towards coming in here."
“...established team at home…”
Pittsburgh Penguins, 02/24/2016, @Boston
Fight for the wild card spot. Two points split the teams. This is a more important game than most, rivalry night, need to answer back after losing to the Jackets.
I wasn’t able to watch the game after David Pastrnak got a goal on the penalty shot, but oh boy I wish I was.
First point: Rask made 41 saves.
Second point: Crosby had three shots.
Third point: David Pastrnak is good.
"Yeah, I think I really felt tonight, although we won by a fair margin there. I really felt we were tight in the first two periods," Bruins coach Claude Julien said. "Although our guys were really trying to do the right things out there, as far as not giving them too many chances, that kind of stuff, they were skating and they were a lot quicker than we were for the first two periods. The first [period] was a tough one, (I) told the guys to loosen up a little bit. Got a little bit better in the second. We looked more like ourselves in the third."
The Bruins swept the three-game season series from Pittsburgh and outscored the Penguins 14-3.
Carolina Hurricanes, 02/26/2016, @Carolina
Coming off of an important win in Pittsburgh. Final game of Dad Week. Need to capitalize.
Had to work so I couldn’t watch it.
Overall thoughts: 4 – 1 W
First off, the Carolina Hurricanes are not a good hockey team. This game should be won 100 times out of 100. With that in mind, how do you let them get 40 shots on net?
Secondly, Matt Belesky is HOT.
"We're not breaking down as bad as we used to," Rask said. "We're more compact and calm out there, and that's helping me see the puck and control the puck. That's why we're not getting scored on that much."
Four out of six points. Dad Week was decent enough.
