Tom Brady vs. Joe Montana. Tom Brady vs. Peyton Manning (LOL). Tom Brady vs. Terry Bradshaw.
Since winning 3 Super Bowls in 4 years ('01, '03, '04), people have constantly made excuses as to why Tom Brady will never be considered one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. "Brady is just a field general." "Brady is a product of a good system." "Brady only throws dump passes."
Well, it is time for all of those haters to come out of the woodwork and eat some crow. On Sunday, Brady became the first quarterback to throw over 400 touchdowns and win multiple Super Bowls. Brady also holds the record for most regular season wins, most playoff wins, and most games started in a Super Bowl.
Will the discussion ever be definitive? Probably not.
Spygate and Deflategate will sway the national opinion, but us New Englanders love our quarterback. Its difficult to call one player the greatest ever just because the game has changed so much over the years, but Brady has convinced me.
No one in the National Football League has ever been more competitive and a bigger winner than Tom Brady. Since being the 199th overall selection in the 2000 NFL Draft, Tom Brady has always had a chip on his shoulder. 15 years later, as TB12 plays in his 16th NFL season, he hasn't changed a bit. He studies film, trains his body, and works harder than anyone in the NFL. The only thing that matters to Brady is winning. Don't believe me? I will leave you with this quote in his Press Conference from Sunday about his 400 TD ball:
“I don’t care, it’s just a ball,” Brady said with a smile. “Danny can do whatever he wants. He made a great catch.”
