The last you've heard from me, the Bruins were off to an awful 0-3 start. Fast forward 7 more games into the season and the Bruins are sitting in 2nd in their division boasting a 6-3-1 record. Talks of the team blowing up and getting rid of guys like Marchand and Chara were storming through the internet like wild-fire.
I mentioned in my article that if they were to do that, then they might as well throw in the towel and tank for Matthews and obviously 3 games into the season, it was way too early to do something like that.
This team seems to have found their identity. The guys are playing excellent right now and are riding an excellent hot streak going 6-0-1 in their last 7 games. They have not lost on the road yet and have a 5-0 record on the road - hopefully they can manage to get a better record at home now.
They have simplified their game and have turned things around. Saturday's night win against the Lightning was a perfect test as it was the second half of a back-to-back down in the Sunshine State.
Tuukka Rask is back playing to his usual self after having a poor opening performance and the Monster has continued his great play when he is called upon.
Young guys like Randell and Miller have continued to show that they belong up here and that they have what it takes to stay up here. With Carey Price being sidelined with a lower body injury for about a week, we have a great chance to make up some ground on the first place Montreal team.
Tuesday night's game coming up against the NHL's second place team the Dallas Star's (with NHL's point leader Jamie Benn and the NHL's bad boy Tyler Sequin) will be a start of a huge test for this team. After the Star's visit the Garden, the Bruin's jump back on the road to face the Caps and then back-to-back games versus Montreal and the Islander's.
Hopefully this team can continue to ride this hot streak and gain some ground in the standings. They look like a totally different team than what they showed in those first three games and we can only hope that they don't go back to playing like that.
Follow me on twitter, because with the Duck's playing awful, there is some possible trade news coming up in the near future...word is Cam Fowler may be on the move...
More to come...
