After losing two straight in heartbreaking fashion, a shoot out in Edmonton and an OT defeat in Calgary, the Bruins bounced back nicely with a 4-0 rout of Vancouver on the road.
The Bruins got goals from Brad Marchand (13), Torey Krug (3), Landon Ferraro (1st as a Bruin), and Tyler Randell (4), while Tuukka Rask earned his 3rd shutout of the year with 17 saves.
But what's a Canucks-Bruins game without something crazy happening?
Brad Marchand has seemingly turned into Public Enemy #1 to the Canucks and it showed last night. After giving them fits all night, even netting his 13th goal of the season, Brad Marchand took a cheap-shot with under 2 minutes left in the game. The culprit, Brandon Prust. What Prust did was absolutely disgusting, as he speared Marchy in the midsection with his stick blade. What makes the play even more dumb is that it didn't even draw a power play.
Jack Edwards said it best when he saw the first replay of it, "Ya know, I hope Brandon Prust has a nice suspension!" And I agree with Jack 100%. It was a cheap shot, FAR from incidental, and it could've possibly led to an injury to one of the game's better players.
Zach Rinaldo would wind up getting into a fight with Derek Dorsett and, right after that, Tyler Randell wanted a piece of the 4th-line grinder.
Prust would be lucky to get anything less than a 2-game suspension for the play normally, but only received a $5,000 fine. Luckily, Marchand appeared to be okay and the Bruins were able to complete the 4-0 shutout.
