This week’s episode opens with Spencer following up with his doctor. Spencer gets a full examination and learns that he has the hip of an 80 year old. He has arthritis in his hip and will need a replacement. Spencer refuses to believe what his doctor is saying and is only concerned about getting more pills. Later, Jason visits Spencer at the office. Spencer wants to meet new signee Travis Mack. We learn that Anderson Financial still has not been certified by the NFLPA to handle the player’s money. Spencer yells at Joe to make some calls and get the company certified so they can start to manage Mack. Jason warns Spencer to not even talk to Mack until they have been cleared by the union.
Vernon is not handling his injury to well. He has discovered Twitter and has a hard time dealing with all the criticism from fans. Reggie visits Joe at the office and discusses getting Vern a pet to raise his spirits. The two pay Ricky’s guy a visit and buy an alpaca because it is the only animal that is not already sold. The two bring the pet back only to lose it in the Miami night. They chase it around the neighborhood all night only to learn that Vern’s other friend Nate got him a dog.
Ricky, Charles, and Ricky’s stoner friend go out to a fashion show when they run into Ricky’s ex Bella. Bella and Ricky get a drink and Ricky tells Bella about his contract situation. Bella gives Ricky pretty good advice. She says that Ricky will hate Buffalo (who wouldn’t) and that he should sign with the Saints. She also tells Ricky that he has saved plenty of money and that he should sign where he’ll be comfortable. Could she be back in the fold for the rest of the season?
The Charles storyline continues to be dry. He received a job in the Miami front office because of his knowledge of the game.
Spencer, Ricky, and Jason work out with Travis. Spencer gets under Travis’ skin during a workout forcing him to storm off. After Travis cools down, he talks with Spencer and the two map out how they are going to approach what lies ahead.
Spencer sits down with a member of the players union and the two go over how Spencer was able to blow through 30 million dollars. Spencer explains that he had a lot of family to take care of and he thought it would last for his life. He also says that he got screwed in a real estate deal by Andre, which the union says they are going to further investigate.
