Another Sunday, and another episode of Ballers is in the books. This week’s episode opens with Reggie making a 5 AM call to Spencer regarding Vernon’s injury. Spencer decides to meet the two at the hospital. Reggie and Vernon roll up to the hospital in a new green McLaren eating Taco Bell, which aggravates Spencer. It is determined by a doctor that Vernon tore his Achilles tendon and has an operation done to fix the injury. Vernon and Spencer discuss how the injury happened. Initially, Jason lied to the Cowboys and told them the injury happened from training. Feeling guilty and with guidance from Spencer, Vernon decides to tell the truth to the Cowboys. The Cowboy’s were happy to hear from Vernon after he had been avoiding them. Vernon tells the Cowboys management that he hurt himself from playing paintball with his friends. When Vernon asks if they like paintball, management hangs up the phone leaving his career in jeopardy.
In New Orleans, Ricky gets off the Saints private plan to have a sit down with the team. The Saints offer Ricky a 3 year 30 million dollar contract, which is exactly what Ricky is looking for. However, Ricky does not get the impression that he is feeling “the love” from the Saints organization. Ricky prepares to leave New Orleans without signing a deal when at the airport, Ricky is greeted by Sean Payton and a full New Orleans parade. This is reminiscent of how Ricky arrived to Miami camp in season 1.
Nothing much happens with Charles this episode except that he weighs his options of switching to left tackle. Charles is worried because at the left tackle position, everything is done with the opposite and weaker side of his body. Plus as a left tackle, Charles will be needed more as a run blocker than a pass blocker.
Andre had declared war on Anderson Financial. He has reached out to all of Joe and Spencer’s clients and attempting to steal them away. He even went as far as sending get-well flowers to Vernon’s doorstep. This storyline should get very interesting as the season progresses. Tune in this Sunday at 10.
