The Huskies and the Crimson Tide squared off yesterday afternoon in a game that was thought to be a David vs. Goliath matchup, but proved to be closer than people thought.
The only time 'Bama fans should of been scared yesterday was the first drive when Jake Browning looked like the Heisman candidate he is and lead the Huskies on a successful touchdown drive. From then on, it was all Alabama. Bo Scarbourgh who may I add looks like a 30-year-old man, led the Tide in offense with 180 rushing yards and 2 TD's on 19 carries.
Jalen Hurts looked like the true freshman he is for the first time this year, completing only 50% of his passes for a whopping 57 yards. I think Lane Kiffin played it safe and didn't try and make his QB do too much and ultimately it worked out for him.
Washington has a very bright future but the Tide overshadow them by a lot in pure talent. Among their starters, Alabama has 11 5-star recruits and 9 4-star recruits, to the Huskies 7 4-star guys.
The Tide's defense may be the greatest college defense I've ever seen. They have so much NFL talent on their defense, it's just so much fun to watch. They now have 15 defensive touchdowns this year, which is an average of more than 1 a game. That's just stupid. To have a defense give you 7 points every game is such a safety blanket for any team and the value is insurmountable.
The Crimson Tide will face off against Clemson on January 9th in Tampa for a rematch of last year's National Championship Game.
