Hello there, old friend. Its been awhile, hasn't it? In case you couldn't tell from the lack of content, BBS has been going through a maintenance phase for quite some time now. Over the Summer, I made the difficult decision to cut ties with my website and go in a different direction. I wanted to focus on some personal things, as well as my professional career. In the previous months, I have grown a lot as a person. I feel that I am a better person coming out than I was going in.
However, I have had that itch that just needs to be scratched. I missed a Red Sox World Series, a struggling Patriots and Celtics team, and a possible Big 12 Championship for my Texas Longhorns. Every time something big happened in the sports world, I was rushing to open up my laptop and get to writing. For awhile, this job seemed like a chore. I had to post a certain number of articles per day, get a certain number of views per day, and satisfy our advertisers with specific content.
Thats over with.
It is time to get back to the roots of Biased Boston Sports. After stopping the site over the Summer, I gave the keys to the castle to Jordan Leandre. He is a great kid with a bright future that amounts to much more than BBS. He is free to post on here if he ever gets the change, but that kid is going to be a rockstar. Be sure to keep a close eye on him in the coming years.
When I started this website back in 2014, all I wanted to do was write about the teams and sports that I held so dear to my heart. I did not want to become a volatile boss and person. I did not want to bark at people to write simply because we had to satisfy a need. I did not want to become the very type of company that I not only saw on the internet, but worked for. I took a look in the mirror and realized that BBS was that type of company now.
So it is time for some changes around here.
First off, I am back. I will be writing again. It feels good to say that. It has been a different year, with so many ups and downs, but I feel like I have my priorities straighter than they have ever been right now. I have been in contact with the old BBS team and they are all welcome to join again if they would like. This site is not going to be what it once was. We are going to write about sports because we love them. We are going to write about what we like to talk about. If people are interested, then thats awesome. But we are not going to just throw news out there for the sake of getting views. BBS is going to change for the better. It is going to be a website that you want to go to because people are writing fun stories that they care about.
Are we going to be posting a ton of content? Probably not. All of the writers on this site, including myself, have real lives that almost always get in the way, as I am sure you can imagine. But every time you see a new article posted on this site, it will be because we care about the stories that are being published. We will not feel like we have to post something. Nobody will be ordering other people around. As was my mission from the very beginning, everyone that writes for BBS will have free reign to post as they deem fit.
Biased Boston Sports may have been started in 2014, but it is being reinvented in November of 2018.
Cheers, my friends.
(P.S. - I don't have a twitter anymore. It is too volatile on that website. If you want to friend me on Facebook and like the page, that is great. Most of our content will be right here though.)
