Thanksgiving Day Games
Philadelphia (off) @ Detroit
Niko: Philly has burned me all year, but I really, really don’t trust Detroit. Even at home, even on Thanksgiving. Eagles win Thursday.
Pete: I hate this matchup. Philly is a dumpster fire and Detroit has been so up and down all season. Philly had some lofty expectations, but have disappointed the entire season. Give me Detroit.
Carolina (+1) @ Dallas
Niko: Game of the day. Carolina has no business still being undefeated and I think that changes this week. I think both defenses will play well, and a late Dan Bailey field goal is the difference. Dallas hands the Panthers their first loss.
Pete: Unlike Philly/Detroit, I LOVE this game. A whole bunch of turkey and stuffing in you, then its time to sit down and watch two teams tough it out. Carolina has been great all season, but I still don't buy in on them. They just don't have enough weapons on offense for me. Tony Romo leads the Cowboys to a season’s-best win, and the preposterous idea of them making the playoffs continues.
Chicago (+9) @ Green Bay
Niko: Chicago had a great opportunity to beat a wounded Denver team last weekend, but blew it. Meanwhile, GB bounced back and pummeled the Vikings in Minnesota. Green Bay wins this one by two touchdowns.
Pete: This is the perfect game to fall asleep to. Chicago has been hot as of late, but if you have the idea that they are going to go into Green Bay on Thanksgiving and hand the Pack a loss, you're out of your mind. Green Bay big.
Minnesota (+2.5) @ Atlanta
Niko: Safe to say the Falcons are terrible. Vikings win in Atlanta.
Pete: I’m a big Vikings guy. I like what they are doing and think that they have a good balance on offense. On the flip side, after a hot start, it looks like Atlanta is showing their true colors. Vikings.
St. Louis (+8) @ Cincinnati
Niko: Tempted to go with the points here, because I think Cincy is fading right before our eyes, but the Rams’ offense is just too anemic. Case Keenum, Nick Foles, tomato, tomatoe. Bengals cover at home.
Pete: Like Niko said, Cincy is trending in the wrong direction big time. Andy Dalton is more concerned with people talking about his hair color and the “integrity of the game,” rather than them getting punched in the mouth and running home to cry to their mommy. Todd Gurley leads the Rams to a HUGE win in Cincinnati.
Oakland (-1.5) @ Tennessee
Niko: Oakland has lost three straight and it looks like the wheels have fallen off the bus. I think Mariota has his way with a vulnerable Oakland secondary and earns his 3rd career NFL victory. Titans win at home.
Pete: I like Derek Carr, and think that he has a bright future in the NFL. Similarly, Marcus Mariota has shown that he is a great field general, even as a rookie. These two teams should grind it out and show what the future of the NFL holds. I will go with the Titans as well.
Tampa Bay (+3) @ Indianapolis
Niko: Don’t look now, but Tampa Bay is 3-1 in November. Coming off a 246 yard, 5-touchdown performance and shellacking of the Eagles, I think Jameis Winston and his Bucs get it done again at Indy.
Pete: No Andrew Luck, no winning. Tampa Bay gets it done.
Buffalo (+5) @ Kansas City
Niko: Buffalo will suffer the proverbial Patriots loss hangover game, and a hot Kansas City team will cover at Arrowhead.
Pete: ^ Agreed.
Miami (+3.5) @ New York Jets
Niko: The loser of this game can effectively be eliminated from playoff contention. How’s your golf game, Tannehill? Jets cover at home.
Pete: Such a terrible game. Both teams suck. Miami just came off a huge win, so I guess I will go with them. Todd Bowles may be losing this team.
New York Giants (-2.5) @ Washington
Niko: It was largely a blowout when these teams met in Week 2, if not for two late garbage time Washington touchdowns. The Giants are playing good football and there’s no reason to think being on the road will affect that. G-men cover.
Pete: Never mind the game, but has anyone seen RG3 in months? I think we need to get an APB out on this guy. G-men will be fine.
San Diego (+3.5) @ Jacksonville
Niko: Going to go with Jacksonville here. The Jags should be able to get up and down the field without much resistance from the porous San Diego defense.
Pete: Well, its official: the wheels have fallen off in San Diego. They are losing their team, they suck, and this is a lost season. Any other year, I’d take the Chargers, but I guess this just isn't their year. Jacksonville covers.
New Orleans (+3) @ Houston
Niko: Two teams going in completely different directions. Billy O has his boys peaking at the right time and the Saints are a complete mess. Texans cover at home.
Pete: With the threat of losing their season, the Texans have surprisingly emerged as a playoff contender. The Colts are a mess, and the Texans should continue to roll and threaten in the AFC South.
Arizona (-10.5) @ San Francisco
Niko: This one could get ugly. Zona is really clicking offensively and San Fran is dysfunctional. Cards cover on the road.
Pete: For some reason, I absolutely despise the Cardinals. There really isn't a reason, I just hate them. In this game, San Fran should get rolled. They just suck.
Pittsburgh (+4) @ Seattle
Niko: There’s only one QB I trust more after November than Ben Roethlisberger and we all know who that is. He’ll find a way to get it done this Sunday on the road. Expect a big effort from the Brown/Bryant tandem once again. Pitt gets a must needed win in Seattle.
Pete: Sneaky Great Game of the Week. Big Ben should lead the boys in Seattle, but its a really tough place to play, especially in late November. Pitt should win, but I don’t think they will cover.
New England (-3) @ Denver
Niko: Doesn’t matter how, just win baby, win. F U Tour rolls on. Pats will find a way to get it done this Sunday in Denver. Brady vs. Osweiler Part 1. Extended thoughts in the Roundtable coming this weekend.
Pete: I don’t want to sound like homer, but the Patriots are a team of destiny. With a proverbial rookie at quarterback, BB should be able to confuse the offense and keep this low scoring. If the ball is in Brady’s hands to win the game, its anyone doubtful of the Pats? Patriots in the Game of the Year.
Baltimore (+2.5) @ Cleveland
Niko: I’m going to go with Netflix. You should too.
Pete: I’m trying to think of a Johnny Football joke, but I just have nothing. Sorry, guys.
