Earlier this week, Evander Kane and Alex Petrovic really didn’t seem to like each other while the Panthers were beating the Sabres to an eventual 7-4 bout. Take a look:
THREE FIGHTS by the SAME PLAYERS. I love it.
The obvious winner of each fight is Kane. He put in the best punches and his form is almost perfect (Locked arm on opponents throwing shoulder. Always.). Petrovic gets points for initiating the fights and getting in shots himself, but Kane is one of the best fighter-scorer combos in the league.
The guy can throw fists like the best of them. He clearly knows that by throwing up the “two and zero” with his hands after the second fight.
The best part of the whole thing is Petrovic notches a Gordie Howe hat trick with a goal, an apple AND a fight (x3).
Also good to note that Kane had a goal with his three won fights, yet it’s not really exciting though because the goal didn’t matter that much given that it only made the game 6-3 in Florida's favor halfway through the 3rd period.
Since Kane has been in the league he only has one or two fights a year. He has a new career high in just ONE NIGHT. Jack Edwards mentioned in the last Bruins v. Sabres game that Kane was born 10 years too late, meaning he belongs in the fighting era of hockey. This Panthers game proves that.
