In blockbuster fashion, the Tennessee Titans have traded the first overall pick in the 2016 draft to the Los Angeles Rams.
With lack of quarterback play in the last few seasons, it is all but confirmed that the Rams will select a QB with the first pick. The two big targets heading into the draft are North Dakota State's Carson Wentz or University of California's Jared Goff. Reports are saying that the Rams are in favor of selecting Carson Wentz.
The first overall pick is very exciting for any team, however the price was not cheap for L.A. To acquire the pick, the Rams sent Tennessee a first round pick, 2 second rounders and and 3rd rounder in 2016, in addition to a first round pick and 3rd round pick in 2017. In return, the Rams would get the first overall pick, a 4th round pick (113) and a 6th round pick (177).
Since the Titans believe they have found their franchise QB in Marcus Mariota, this is a very good trade for Tennessee. They will be able to build depth and continue their rebuilding process with this excess of high picks.
