Multiple reports have confirmed that Robert Griffin III will call Cleveland his new home after he signed a two-year, $15 million deal with the Browns earlier today.
This confirms an earlier prediction from our own Jordan Leandre earlier this month when he said Cleveland was a likely landing spot for him.
Griffin will now be the 24th starting quarterback in Cleveland since 1999 and all of the faces were featured for a split second in this vine from @ESPNNFL:
However, Griffin will have a couple targets to choose from as Josh Gordon is coming back from a year-long break for smoking weed, Travis Benjamin keeps progressing and Gary Barnidge is a big body at tight end that he can’t possibly miss.
RGIII himself expressed his excitement for joining these guys in this statement earlier:
Hopefully he will be able to return to his Heisman form and be a legitimate dual-threat quarterback to provide entertainment in a city that desperately needs something to cheer for.
If not, yet another quarterback will fill his shoes and the list on the back of the jersey will continue to grow:
The Browns are scheduled to travel to our Nation’s Capital to play his former Redskins this year and it will be interesting to see how the fans react to seeing him again.
Thank God we live in New England and don’t have to worry about Quarterbacks.
