After last night's drubbing, the Red Sox look to continue their trend of bullying bad teams, as Eduardo Rodriguez will face off against a putrid Minnesota Twins team. This is a sneaky huge start for E-Rod, who struggled mightily against the Baltimore Orioles, where he gave up four home runs while mainly throwing fastballs for some unknown reason. On the season, Rodriguez is 1-1 with a 5.40 ERA in two starts since coming back from a knee injury that he developed at the end of Spring Training. Rodriguez's velocity and command has been poor in his first two starts, so look for him to try and prove doubters wrong as he takes the hill for the third time in 2016.
On the other end of the spectrum, the Minnesota Twins will see the return of Kyle Gibson, who has been out with a right shoulder strain and lower back stiffness since his last start on April 22. Gibson has not been particularly good on the season (0-3 record, 6.10 ERA), but the ailing Twins will take any help that they can get right now. Look for the Red Sox to make life difficult for Gibson as he makes his first MLB start in a couple of months.
