It's that time of the year again! I will be highlighting some of the players I would like the Patriots to pick in this year's draft. We have already highlighted some players and reported some private work outs, so be sure to follow us for updates! On the right hand side of this page, the "2016 NFL Draft" category will keep track of all potential Patriots players.
At Kansas State, Baby Gronk played in every game his final three years, while starting 20 of those 39 games. As a fullback, he did not have a ton of offensive production, but he did manage to make multiple all-conference teams.
Look, he isn't Rob Gronkowski. Baby Gronk is a serviceable fullback that can occasionally get into the end zone. He is not going to switch to running back, and his pass blocking far outweighs his mediocre run blocking. Baby Gronk comes from an athletic family, as we know, and will help an NFL team with the little things.
With the return of James Develin, it does not make a ton of sense to add Baby Gronk, but then again the Patriots can never have too much depth. Coming off an injury, the Patriots may want insurance, as Develin's absence completely changed the Patriots' offense. As a likely late round draft pick or undrafted free agent, don't be see surprised if the Patriots give Baby Gronk a look because of his name alone.
