This past week, the Patriots traded for Houston wide receiver and special teamer Keshawn Martin. The Patriots traded a fifth round pick for Martin and a sixth rounder.
This move looks to be able to lighten the load on players such as Danny Amendola and Julian Edelman, who also play significant roles in the team's offense. Martin looks to return punts, as he has shown flashes of greatness in the past in that area.
"He's had some experience. He's played, I'd say, multiple positions in an offense similar to ours. Inside, outside, has returned kickoffs. He's had some involvement in the kicking game. We'll see how it goes," said Belichik earlier in the week.
In his career, Martin has 38 receptions for 416 yards and 3 TDs.
