Lines accurate as of Wednesday 8 AM Eastern Time*
Minnesota (+7.5) @ Arizona
Niko: Teddy Bridgewater’s play has been alarming over the last few weeks, and a roller coaster the entire season. If the Cardinals can effectively keep AP somewhat at bay as Seattle did last week, Minny will absolutely not be able to keep up with the Arizona offense. Should be a good game Thursday night, but I have Zona covering.
Pete: Everyone should be surprised at the NFL right now. Not because of the game, but the two teams that they actually picked to play on Thursday Night. We finally have a good game on Thursday Night! YAY! Unfortunately, I don't think that the Vikings can keep up with Arizona's tenacious offense. If Teddy Football can play out of his mind, then the Vikings should have a chance, but I just don't see it happening. Arizona covers.
Washington (+3.5) @ Chicago
Niko: Washington has been terrible on the road (0-5); Chicago has been terrible at home (1-5). Flip a coin here. I’ll go with the Bears at home.
Pete: Two pretty bad teams, but the Redskins actually have something to play for: a playoff spot. I think Kirk Cousins gets it done here. Washington steals this win and keeps the Giants on the outside looking in.
Pittsburgh (+3) @ Cincinnati
Niko: Even without Le’Veon Bell, is it really far fetched to say the Steelers have the best offensive weapons in football? Antonio Brown, Martavis Bryant, and Markus Wheaton form a ridiculous WR trio, DeAngelo Wiliams is getting it done at a high level in the absence of Bell, and Big Ben is healthy and slinging it. I’ll take my chances with Pitt upsetting the Bengals, who are ripe for a colossal letdown down the stretch.
Pete: As a Patriots fan, the Steelers scare me. A lot. When the Pats are fully healthy, there is only one team that can keep up with them, and that's Big Ben and company. I am hoping that the Bengals will win, just because I think they will start losing down the stretch, but I have to go with Pitt here.
San Francisco (+1.5) @ Cleveland
Niko: Cleveland is in turmoil. Pettine has lost the team; Manziel is not in a position to succeed. San Fran isn’t great either, but they’ve looked surprisingly competitive with Blaine Gabbert at the helm. San Fran wins in Cleveland.
Pete: At Manziel's short benching, I think he comes out and has a great game. Out of college, we thought Johnny Football was going to be the next great thing. All the talent and ability is there, but like Niko said, he isn't in the right situation to succeed. I have the Browns here, but its a true toss up.
San Diego (+10) @ Kansas City
Niko: KC will beat San Diego at home, but 10 points is a lot. I’ll say a Philip Rivers garbage time TD toss to Danny Woodhead gives the Chargers the cover.
Pete: Kansas City is surprisingly competing for a playoff spot, after starting off the year pretty bad. Like Niko said, thats a big point spread. I think that KC will win, but the Chargers should cover.
Detroit (+1) @ St. Louis
Niko: No matter how “Lions” that loss to Green Bay was last Thursday, I just can’t pick the Rams with their QB situation as is. Matt Stafford and co get it done in St. Louis. Lions win.
Pete: Both teams aren't particularly good, but I guess I will go with the lesser of two evils and pick the Lions. They have been playing some good football over the past couple of weeks.
Tennessee (+7) @ New York Jets
Niko: The good news for Jets fans is that they’re playing solid football and are back in the mix for a playoff spot. The bad news is they still have the Pats on the schedule and that they have to play at Buffalo week 17, in what could decide their season. Regardless, New York covers at home against the Titans this weekend.
Pete: The Jets are finally back on track and playing some relatively decent football. I think that they get the win here at home against a pretty bad Titans squad.
Buffalo (-1.5) @ Philadelphia
Niko: Philly is riding high after their season saving win at Gillette on Sunday (pulling my hair out just thinking of it). I liked them a lot at the beginning of the season, then hopped off the bus, and for one week at least, will hop back on. Lincoln Financial should be rocking. The Eagles take care of business at home.
Pete: It must suck to live in Philly. All your teams SUCK. I guess they have Rocky, though. This is such a terrible game, who even cares. Buffalo just to be different.
New Orleans (+3.5) @ Tampa Bay
Niko: Tampa has won 4 of 6 and Jameis Winston looks like the real deal. I’ll take the Bucs at home. With a soft few games after NO (@ Rams, Bears), they may even be a wildcard team in the playoffs.
Pete: I am not a big Jameis Winston guy, but the Bucs are playing some good football lately. Nevertheless, I can't pick against Drew Brees. Too good, too experienced. New Orleans.
Atlanta (+7) @ Carolina
Niko: Carolina should cover this at home. Atlanta has to do some major self-analyzing this offseason.
Pete: This game really is the Falcons' season. However, they are a complete dumpster fire. Carolina stays undefeated for another week.
Indianapolis (off) @ Jacksonville
Niko: I can’t stand Indy, but I have to admit Matt Hasselbeck has truly had a remarkable season. He’s basically carried the Colts the entire way and is one of the main reasons they’re still in quasi-contention. I just don’t think he can keep it up, especially now with a banged up neck and ribs. I’ll take Jacksonville at home.
Pete: Jacksonville is just so bad. Indy easily.
Seattle (-6) @ Baltimore
Niko: Seattle should blow out the Ravens. They’ll coast until their showdown with Zona week 17.
Pete: Baltimore blows. Seattle is starting to find it again and looking like the team that was within 1 play from winning Super Bowl 49.
Oakland (+7.5) @ Denver
Niko: Denver will win this game, but I can see it being a low scoring slugfest, similar to the first meeting (16-10 Broncos). I’ll take the points and go with the Raidahs.
Pete: Denver is almost impossible to beat at home. If this game was in Oakland, I'd give it to the Raiders, but well, you know.
Dallas (+7.5) @ Green Bay
Niko: Both teams had huge wins last week, but I just can’t see a Cassel led attack keeping up with Aaron Rodgers and his offense. The momentum from that “Hail Mary” will carry on as well. Packers cover at home.
Pete: Green Bay is NOT the team that we thought they were. However, Dallas is in shambles. Green Bay should win this game with ease, especially in Lambeau.
New England (-3.5) @ Houston
Niko: This will be a tough one. Going to (shocker) go Pats here, mainly because of the defense. They’ll need to step up while the offense is trying to re-invent itself on the fly. Extended thoughts coming this weekend in the Roundtable.
Pete: If Dont'a Hightower plays, the Patriots win easily. If he's out for another week, this will be a toss up. Extended thoughts when the injury report comes out and the Roundtable this weekend.
New York Giants (-1.5) @ Miami
Niko: The Giants play their best football with their backs against the wall. Their backs are officially against the wall. Giants win on the road.
Pete: Miami is so bad, but this is their time to shine: when the games mean literally nothing. However, I think they will win, just because I hate the Giants with every bone in my body.
