Last week, it was announced that former NBA legend Kevin Garnett will be embarking on his first post-retirement job. He will be joining Charles Barkley, Ernie Johnson, Shaquille O'Neal and Kenny Smith on the TNT pre-game studio.
As a tremendous KG fan, I am excited to see what he will bring to the table with this group. I personally think he will do a great job with this role and will be able to bring an insight that the other guys don't have since KG only recently retired. He will have a more recent familiarity with the current power structure of the league and can provide a more inside perspective.
I also think it's quite possible, as a defensive oriented player, KG will actually talk about defense a little more than the other guys. I think it's a shame that many broadcasters, when they analyze teams, don't go in-depth on defense, but perhaps with his experience, KG will be able to actually discuss it. I also like the fact that the entire group, particularly Shaq and Charles Barkley are not politically correct.
They tell it like it is and will also give each other shit from time to time. We all know that KG is never one to be politically correct or hold anything back so adding him into that group is only going to make it more entertaining and you'll hear even more one-liners.
