Well, its win or stay home for the Celtics. After getting blown out of the building in Game 5 in Atlanta, the Celtics are now facing first round elimination, now trailing 3-2 in this best-of-7 series. To this point, the home team has won every game in the series and the Celtics are playing at home for Game 6. There is hope of forcing a Game 7 back in Atlanta.
Key to the Game:
1. The Celtics need to get off to a fast start and get the crowd involved early. It is well known that the Celtics have a big advantage playing at home in front of their fans. The Celtics must get a lead early and stay on the gas pedal for the full 48 minutes.
2. Isaiah Thomas said after Game 5 that his teammates should feel disrespected by Atlanta’s use of the double team against the sub 6-foot point guard. Members of the green should take these comments as a wake up call to step up and rise to the occasion. If Atlanta wants to take Thomas out of the game, other members of the green will need to fill his void. Look for Evan Turner and Marcus Smart to have big games.
3. The Celtics have done a pretty good job keeping Atlanta out of the paint. However, they have given Atlanta wide open outside shots. Atlanta was able to blow the Celtics out in Game 5 because they made open 3 after open 3. The Celtics need to do a better job contesting outside shots.
