This was the first ever season for professional women's hockey, and Boston will go down as it's first champion.  The Pride swept the Buffalo Beauts in a best of 3 series to become the first ever Isobel Cup Champions.

The series definitely had a dramatic flair to it, as the Pride's Hilary Knight put an end to game 1 with a penalty shot in overtime.  Game 2 was a bit less stressful for the fans as the Pride skated to a 3-1 victory over Buffalo.

The Pride may have had a little extra motivation to win the cup this year.  Teammate Denna Laing went into the boards awkwardly during the Women's Outdoor Classic earlier this year, and became paralyzed.  The team rallied behind their teammate to raise funds for Denna and her family, and just added the Isobel Cup to top it off.
