*Lines accurate as of Tuesday evening 9:00PM EST*
Arizona Cardinals (-2.5) @ San Francisco 49ers
Niko: I suspect this line will have some movement if Carson Palmer is in fact deemed out with a concussion. I’ll roll with the Cards anyways. Bowman going down is a significant blow to the 49er defense.
Pete: At some point, you have to think that the Cardinals are going to figure things out, right? I mean, they can't be this bad. The 49ers are having some quarterback controversy of their own, but I just don't see the 49ers handing the Cardinals their fourth loss on the season.
Jordan: The Cardinals have been absolutely pathetic this year (1-3 including a loss to the Rams, LOL). However, the Niners are just sooooo bad, Cards roll with this one, especially with Bowman out for San Fran.
New England Patriots (-10) @ Cleveland Browns
Niko: By the time you read this, this line will probably be doubled. Unfortunately for the hapless Browns, they’re simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Tom Brady and the Patriots cover. It feels great to say that again. More on this one coming in the roundtable this weekend.
Pete: I agree with everything Niko said. The Patriots should win this game by three touchdowns, but the Browns aren't as bad as they may appear. Sure, they are 0-4, but they have been competitive in every game and should have at least won the overtime game against the Dolphins. I think the Patriots should just be careful. Don't let the Browns make any big plays, score early, and shut these fans up.
Jordan: Revenge Tour 2.0 baby! TB12 and back and he's pissed off, Gronk is slowly working his way back, and all of these offensive weapons are still healthy for Brady. Pats smoke the winless Browns.
Philadelphia Eagles (-1) @ Detroit Lions
Niko: Detroit astoundingly lost a virtually impossible to lose game last weekend. I’m rolling with Wentz and that defense on the road. Eagles improve to 4-0 off the bye.
Pete: The Eagles and their success may be one of the most surprising stories in this young NFL season. Carson Wentz is proving all of his doubters wrong and the LA Rams must be licking their chops as Jared Goff helplessly stands on the sidelines. I don't think the Eagles can sustain this level of success, but they should be able to handle with Lions team with relative ease.
Jordan: I don't know what they are putting in the water in Philly, but Carson Wentz has been a god in the first 3 games he and his Eagles are playing. On the other side, the Lions are struggling, Stafford hates Golden Tate with a passion now and they're heading downhill fast. Eagles reach 4-0.
Chicago Bears (+4.5) @ Indianapolis Colts
Niko: Two of the very worst in the league. I really, really want to take Chicago here, but for the sake of credibility I can’t. Indy wins this game.
Pete: Brutal game if you are a fan of good football. I hate the Colts, but it is hard to bet against them this week. Regardless of how poor they have played, they still have Andrew Luck and the Bears are arguably the worst team in the NFL.
Jordan: I'm really not going to feel confident with either team on this one. It'll be an offensive game, therefore it goes to Indy because theiee offense is far superior.
Tennessee Titans (+3.5) @ Miami Dolphins
Niko: Tannehill is just a late bloomer. He’s going to be so great one day. The Dolphins should hang onto him for the next decade and find out. Titans pull off the upset on the road.
Pete: Another terrible game. I thought the Titans would be decent this year but they suck, and the Dolphins are one of the more sporadic teams I have ever seen. They almost pull off a victory against the Patriots, then have to take the Browns to overtime in order to avoid an upset. I will roll with the Titans just because I LOVE Derrick Henry.
Jordan: I still think the Titans can ball. The Dolphins are just not a good team, despite fooling us a bit in the second half against the Pats. Titans take this dub on the road.
Houston Texans (+6) @ Minnesota Vikings
Niko: The Vikings are legit. Props to Coach Zimmer, who has his defense playing at an elite level. You think Cincy regrets not pushing Marv out the door and promoting this guy? Minnesota covers against an overrated Texans’ squad.
Pete: I am going to say the Texans pull of an upset here. I think the Vikings are fading and their defense can only hold on for so long. Couple this with a short week, and I like the Texans' chances.
Jordan: Until proven otherwise, I'm rolling with the inspired defense of the Vikings. They've just been so stout.
New York Jets (+7) @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Niko: The Jets’ season could be over by Halloween. They’re going to need to take two of the next three to keep things interesting. Unfortunately for them, it doesn’t get much easier after this week. After this Sunday comes a business trip to square off against a desperate ‘Zona team, and a home game against the seemingly rejuvenated Ravens. The bleeding won’t stop this weekend. Pitt gets the job done at home.
Pete: No shot the Jets win here. They could realistically start the season 1-4, and who knows what will happen when the Jets play the Cardinals next week. Like Niko said, they could be done by Christmas. With the uncertainty of Eric Decker and Ryan Fitzpatrick's inability to not turn the ball, I don't think the Jets can keep up with the Steelers offensively. Pittsburgh.
Jordan: After the beat down of the Chiefs, I expect Big Ben and co. to have a dominant game against the Jets at home. Steelers cover.
Washington Redskins (+4) @ Baltimore Ravens
Niko: Tough game. When in doubt, roll with the home team. Ravens cover.
Pete: Sneaky great game of the week. Like the Vikings, I just don't think the Ravens can keep this up. I like the Redskins and what they have been able to do in the past season and a half.
Jordan: Ravens are actually pretty damn good this year, I see them taking this one on a final drive. Ravens cover.
Atlanta Falcons (+6.5) @ Denver Broncos
Niko: Is Atlanta for real? We’ll find out this Sunday at Mile High. I’m not sold yet, but I would like to see them win this game. That being said, I’ve got to go with the Broncos to take care of business at home.
Pete: I don't think the Falcons are a legitimate contender, but they are a decent team with an awesome offense led by Julio Jones and Matty Ice Ryan. If this game was in Atlanta, I would pick the Falcons without hesitation. However, no one can beat the Broncos at home.
Jordan: A lot of this game depends on the health of Trevor Siemien. I expect the Broncos to win regardless, but the overall score depends on Siemien's status.
Cincinnati Bengals (+1.5) @ Dallas Cowboys
Niko: Sneaky great game. Going to (coin flip) roll with Cincy on the road here, just because I think they’re a notch more talented from top to bottom. Plus, its just October so their “contender” label has another month a half until it expires. Bengals on the road.
Pete: Don't steal my sneaky great game, Niko. Anyways, I am going to pick the "upset" here and say the Cowboys keep it rolling. Dak Prescott looks legit and the Bengals are, and always will be, a contender.
Jordan: The Boys have been really good so far. Dak and Zeke seem like a deadly tandem. However, players being banged up, including their kicker, might cost them some points down the stretch. I see Cincy coming out on top.
San Diego Chargers (+3.5) @ Oakland Raiders
Niko: Don’t look now, but the Raiders are 3-1, play host to the Chargers and Chiefs, and then travel to Jacksonville and Tampa before hosting the Broncos. Those are four very winnable games leading up to a big bout against Denver. Raiders cover at home.
Pete: Have to go with the better team here; Raiders at home.
Jordan: I picked the Raiders to win the AFC West and I'm not backing down now. They're a game back of Denver, so they need to keep themselves on pace with 4-0 Denver, they have to win Sunday. And I think they will, Raiders cover.
Buffalo Bills (+3) @ Los Angeles Rams
Niko: The Bills will suffer the proverbial Super Bowl hangover loss. Google Rex Ryan’s career coaching record after a win. Abysmal. Rams take the slugfest and bring Bills Mafia back down to earth.
Pete: How in God's green earth are the Los Angeles Rams 3-1? THEY CAN'T SCORE. But screw the Bills and their trash franchise. Go Rams, baby!
Jordan: Screw it, Rams stay hot.
New York Giants (+7) @ Green Bay Packers
Niko: The Giants spent a lot of money this offseason. Now would probably be a good time for a little return on those investments. I’ll take the G-men and the points here, with the Pack winning by a field goal.
Pete: The Giants need to get going. If the G-men want to make some noise in the playoffs, they will need to get there first. This is a huge game for them that could dictate New York's season.
Jordan: The Giants should cover this spread fairly easily, but I ultimately see the Packers getting under OBJ's skin and keeping him out of play in the fourth quarter, and ultimately winning by a FG or 2. Packers win, Giants cover.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+7.5) @ Carolina Panthers
Niko: I won’t pronounce Carolina “done” yet, but they’re certainly creeping towards it. Letting Josh Norman go is looking like an enormous mistake. Newton is currently questionable with a head injury, and as it stands, the 7.5 may be too many points even if he does go. I’ll roll with the points and take the Bucs.
Pete: If Cam plays, this will be a damn close game. Regardless, I am taking the points here and rolling with the Bucs.
Jordan: I have been saying since the preseason that the Panthers fooled everyone last year and won't be nearly as good as they were. And so far, I'm right. I expect the Panthers to struggle against this Bucs team, and the defense isn't good enough to beat up a young Tampa team. Bucs cover.
