I will be the first to admit, I am relatively new to soccer. I went to Europe on a trip in 2014 during the Men's World Cup and was immediately hooked by the passion of the fans. I remember being in Switzerland after they had won an opening match and people were just going absolutely crazy in the streets. Honking horns, screaming, running; I had never seen anything like it.

Anyways, after that nice little trip down memory lane, its time to get back to the game at hand.

Bayern München is my team. Plain and simple. While I was in Europe I witnessed the love and hatred for this team and it reminded my of my own New England Patriots. People love to hate success, right?

Real Madrid and Bayern are two of the most successful teams in all of soccer. Although this isn't a true, 100%, all systems go soccer match, it was still entertaining seeing these two teams go at it. The preseason is a perfect time to see what we have this year, and I was pleasantly surprised.

The first 45 minutes were a snooze. No real chances and no chippiness, which I half expected. I was pleasantly surprised in the 2nd half to see multiple yellow cards and some serious opportunities for Bayern München. For Bayern, Xabi Alonso and Medhi Benatia were disciplined, while Marcelo and Sergio Ramos (wait, Ramos got a yellow card?! shocker..) received yellow cards for Real Madrid.

As the match looked to be going to a shootout, Robert Lewandowski ripped one past the goalie in the 88' to seal the win for Bayern and win the Audi Cup. Now its time for some Bundesliga action...

Biased Bayern München Sports, right?
